Care & Repair Policy

General Care and Prevention:

• Keep it Dry: Moisture is the main cause of tarnish. Remove brass jewelry before showering, swimming (especially in salt or chlorinated water), or engaging in activities that cause heavy sweating.
• Avoid Chemicals: Remove your jewelry before applying perfumes, lotions, hairspray, or household cleaning products.
• Wipe Down: After wearing, gently wipe the jewelry with a soft, dry cloth to remove oils, dirt, and moisture from your skin.
• Proper Storage: Store brass jewelry in a cool, dry place, ideally in an airtight container, a soft pouch, or a plastic bag with the air squeezed out. You can also include anti-tarnish strips or a silica gel packet to absorb moisture.
• Protective Coating (Optional): For a long-term barrier against tarnish, you can apply a specialized jewelry sealant or a coat of clear nail polish to the parts that touch your skin. This may need to be reapplied periodically.

Cleaning Brass Jewelry:

For general cleaning and light dirt:

• Mild Soap and Water: Mix a few drops of mild dish soap with warm water. Dip a soft cloth into the solution and gently wipe the jewelry. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry completely immediately with a soft cloth.

For tackling tarnish:

• Baking Soda Paste: Mix baking soda with a little water to form a paste. Gently scrub the jewelry with a soft cloth or a soft-bristle toothbrush. Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately.

• Distilled White Vinegar: Dip a soft cloth into the vinegar and gently wipe the jewelry. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry completely immediately with a soft cloth.

• Polishing Cloth: Use a specially treated jewelry polishing cloth to gently buff away light tarnish and restore shine.

Important Note: For all jewelry with gemstones or if your jewelry is plated (e.g., gold-plated brass), avoid abrasive scrubbing, as this can damage gemstones/remove the plating. Gentle wiping and proper storage are especially crucial for gemstone jewelry and plated pieces.

All items purchased at Sara Sela Jewelry can be returned for a refund within 30 days of purchase, required that the item(s) is(are) returned in unaltered and undamaged condition.

If an item is received damaged, please send an email notifying us of the damage, along with your receipt. Item must be returned within 14 days and mark the package  "Attention: Item damaged in delivery ". Customers will be credited in their original method of payment, excluding shipping charges.
